Step-On Guide Service

An option provided by Yellowstone Insight for Educational Organizations (school groups, teacher workshops, non-profits, etc.) in Yellowstone National Park.  The Step-On Guide Service matches the tour options mentioned, but allowing us to provide insightful interpretation from your vehicle.

We ask that you bring your own food & beverages, as we do not want to take the time during the tour to stop at park restaurants.

– This is a great service to take advantage of! MacNeil or Shauna will meet with you and provide your passengers an insightful tour of Yellowstone’s Wonders!

Sample Itinerary

We recommend you start your personal & private tour just before sunrise, allowing us to be in the field for prime wildlife and sunrise viewing times.  We will meet you at Gardiner, Montana, a gateway community at Yellowstone’s North Entrance Gate.

During a typical one-day tour, much of the morning will be road-based, with your wildlife observations enhanced by quality binoculars and high-powered spotting scopes.  As wildlife moves to shaded locations for rest, we can choose to venture off road, away from most Park visitors. Your guide’s experience and expertise will illuminate Yellowstone’s matchless qualities.

Choose a single day tour to focus in-depth on one topic, or select a different subject for each day of a multi-day tour.

Wow, Wow and Wow!

“We used Yellowstone Insight and had the best day.  After the tour my grandson said , I learned more today about history than I’ve learned all year in school I think that sums it up. If you are thinking of calling MacNeil - do it! You will not be sorry.”

MacNeil Lyons, The Best Yellowstone Guide Ever!

This guy is a master at coordinating a three-generation Yellowstone trip! In August our family, including grandchildren ages 14,11, and 9, spent two fabulous days learning about Yellowstone with MacNeil. He turned the geology of Yellowstone into a science lab, on a walk we "discovered" a Bison carcass, and all of this plus plenty of fun and a great breakfast to meet the needs of all ages. He is a smart and funny charmer. Don't even think about going to Yellowstone without talking to MacNeil first!

Exceeded our expectations by a wide margin!

Beth and I wanted to let you know how great our tour was. You did an outstanding job for us and it exceeded our expectations by a wide margin. We really enjoyed the time we had together and it was the highlight our trip and a fabulous wedding anniversary present for Beth. It was very memorable and only gets better in the retelling...!
